I was born in Vancouver Washington. Out of high school I joined the Navy and spent 26 years as a Navy Seal. In 2003 while at the San Diego County Fair I met an old friend who was turning tops and from that moment on I spent as much time as I could at the lathe.
My home turning club is the San Diego Wood Turners. I demonstrate regularly on many subjects. In 2009 I was invited to be a guest demonstrator at the Utah Wood turning Symposium. In 2014 I was asked to come to Sligo as a guest demonstrator for Ireland’s Wood Turning Symposium.
I like to challenge myself, so aside from bowls and platters, plates and utensils, I enjoy making hollow-forms, off center work, and segmenting.
